Outcomes

The overall aim of this project is to discover how the importance of Irish nature and wildlife has a benefit on people’s mental and physical wellbeing through the art of cinematography and audio.

The objectives of this project were to research how spending time in nature affected one’s wellbeing. Discover how each participant used nature in their own way to improve their mental and physical wellbeing. Research cinematography and editing techniques to make a relaxing entertaining and engaging documentary.

The intended outcome for this project was to create a website hosting 2 documentaries with a gallery showcasing my work and to create something I am proud of.

February 2023 -

Project Progress

At this stage I began to work and practice video techniques. I was behind on the work as I was doing work for Finnegan's Farm at the time. However, I think this was hugely beneficial to my project in the end as it allowed me to practice and hone my camera techniques like b-roll shots.

March 2023 -

Project Progress

In March we were tasked with recording a vlog for our Vlogging and Livestreaming module. I took this as an opportunity to hit two birds with one stone and vlogged my trip with Shuan in Dun Na Ri. There I recorded some of the first B-Roll that can be seen in episode 2. It was also useful as it allowed me to practice vlgging techniques as well.

Aril 2023 -

Aril 2023 -

Project Progress

In April I began to record some of the b-roll for Episode 1 up in Djouce Mountain. However, bad weather up in the mountains prevented me from making serious progress and I fell behind in my time schedule. I used this time to complete the interview with Mary and also compiled and edited the footage I already had.

May 2023 -

Project Progress

May was when I completed all of my filming and editing. I completed the first documentary and second documentary a few days apart as I edited it all in a week. I also made the decision to scrap the originally planned third episode as both episode 1 and 2 took longer to film and edit than I had anticipated.
